In addition to Pebbles to Pearls, Wordswell organizes periodic Ecological Day Camps for junior youth, a number of times a year. These camps, which take place in a natural setting, seek to help junior youth develop an ecological conscience, fostering a strong sense of responsibility towards the environment. Study and discussion of ecology helps develop an appreciation of many important concepts, such as interconnectedness and reciprocity, which have application in both the natural and social worlds. The camps provide opportunity for recreation and sports, and for individual reflection. They seek to strengthen an appreciation and attraction to true beauty in the hearts and minds of all participants.

Media Camps develop analytical skills by helping participants understand the influence of the social environment on young people and how media and technology can be used to promote social good. Junior youth also create multimedia presentations that are showcased when they return to their home communities.
